Pastor Alfred "Frank" Painter
Pastor Frank Painter went to his heavenly home on September 13, 2021.
Frank was born on April 21, 1951, to the late Alfred Rae and Dorothy Mae Estep Painter.
After graduating from Page County High School in 1970, Frank started his career in sheet metal.
On June 28, 1972, he married Judy Darlene Alger. On May 1, 1979, Frank and Judy accepted Christ as their personal Savior.
Frank became actively involved in his service to God. In March 1982, Pastor Painter yielded to God's call on his life and established Antioch Independent Bible Church in Luray, Virginia. He pastored and devoted his life to Antioch church until present, for 39 years. Over the years, he has shown God's love and preached the gospel of Christ to many people in the Shenandoah Valley.
Pastor Frank was a humble, faithful servant of the Lord. He pointed many people to Jesus, ministering to others through TV, radio and nursing homes for many years. Pastor Painter had a burden and compassion for our community.
His wife, Judy, passed away on July 14, 2004.
In addition to his love for the Lord, he loved his family. On May 29, 2012, Frank married Kay Frances Jewell. He is survived by his wife, Kay; his four daughters, Beth Ancell and husband Buck, April Guzy and husband Keith, Rebecca Good and husband Lefton, and Karen Rhinehart and husband James; and a stepson, Anthony Jewell and wife Amber.
His pride and joy were his 12 grandchildren, Bryce Ancell, Olivia Good, Kadence Rhinehart, Mercedes Guzy, Bailey Ancell, Lauren Good, Braden Ancell, Tanner Guzy, Alia Rhinehart, Landon Good, Trey Guzy and Ava Rhinehart.
He is also survived by his sister, Tammy Heiston; a special nephew who called him "Daddy," Caleb Aleshire; a niece, Katie Harper; and a nephew, Cody Aleshire. He loved his pet companion, "Bear."
Pastor Frank loved his church family at Antioch Independent Bible Church. He considered them his family; he loved each and everyone.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 32 years, Judy Painter; his parents, Alfred Rae and Dorothy Painter; and his grandson, Brett Ancell.
